Willy is currently in super copy/parrot/repeater mode with his brother. Anything Noah says, Willy repeats, even if he has no idea what it means (“I’m five, you’re two” to which Willy responds “no, I’M FIVE”). He’s really speaking in full sentences now (“can you sit down next to me?” and “I want mommy to come in my room”). Lots of competition is going on between the two of them (i.e. “I have a headache” from Noah, then “I have a headache” from Willy, then “no, you don’t have a headache Willy”, then “yes, I DO have a headache” or “you’re not getting dessert” from Noah “yes, I AM getting DESSERT” from Willy).
It’s scary at times just how similar Willy behaves or talks like Noah and I know it’s because he’s watching his big brother’s every move and picking up certain habits and traits (most often the annoying ones) from Noah. They do seem to enjoy playing together, but only do so happily without conflict when stars align and the moon is in the right phase. It’s funny to see Willy give it right back to Noah – he doesn’t back down and has an extremely stubborn side to him that Noah never had. He makes such a stink to “do it myself” and throws a fit if you try to help him. Noah is independent and defiant, but hasn’t shown the same stubborn nature as Will. Willy is still very endearing, so most tantrums are quickly forgotten.
