Noah’s been battling a cold for the past two weeks and this past week has gotten excessively snotty.  Every time the poor kid sneezes a bunch of snot rockets out of his nose.  We have to be quick with a tissue, else his little fingers wipe the goo all over his face.  I registered for this Nosefrida snot sucker and my good friend, Meredith, bought it as part of her baby shower gift to us.  Opening the package, I must admit that I was a little skeptical (the product looks like a three year old designed it) and a little nervous to test it out.  Since Noah is the most active little baby on the planet, how on earth would I be able to get him to sit still long enough?  Well, I finally managed to hold him down for 3 seconds and got a load of snot out! Noah, of course, HATED it – he screamed the whole time.  After reading a few reviews on Amazon I learned a much easier way to hold him still – sit with your legs in a V, with the baby’s head between your thighs and the baby’s arms tucked under your hamstrings – genius!  Easy to clean – just remove the tip and run through hot soapy water.  The sucker comes with 3 additional filters, which I thought was kind of a rip off since you have to spend $5 to get more filters; however, a bunch of reviewers on Amazon said that one filter should really be able to last forever since, unless you have super human powers, you will never suck hard enough to get the snot all the way up to the filter.  Love this product and would definitely recommend to others.  Your kid will hate it, but it does the job well!
