Week 4

Got a positive pregnancy result on Saturday morning, 10/22/11. I was actually pretty shocked that we got pregnant as quickly as we did – I figured it would take at least 6 months (it had only been 2 months). I also thought I would feel different when it happened. I had always heard people say, “Oh, you will just know.” I didn’t feel any different! I had had a bit of spotting the previous weekend and then usual cramping, but I chalked it up to pre-period symptoms. So far, I’m feeling good. I have energy, I’m sleeping soundly and have only slightly sore boobs and gas – kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop! I have some concerns about morning sickness and miscarriage, but I suppose it’s out of my hands and nothing to do but hope for the best! I told P the news that same evening by baking him a cake and decorating it with the words “BABY CAKE” – he was really sweet and supportive about the whole thing (I was babbling and crying and nervous)!  Still hasn’t sunk in though.

Side note: I weighed 116.5 lbs at my 9/8/11 gynecology appointment.
