Went to my 34 week OB appointment yesterday. There was a 45 minute wait for my doctor so by the time I got ushered in to pee, get vitals, etc. I decided that whatever questions I was going to ask could wait until the next appointment in 2 weeks. BP was 110/70 and weight was 154.5lbs – only gained a pound in 2 weeks which made me deliriously happy (I was worried it was going to be another 6 pound weight gain). The doctor listened to the baby’s heart rate and everything sounded great. The doctor said the baby probably weighed between 4 and 4.5 lbs (just by feeling she could tell size) and the head was in the correct position for labor – down! She said she could feel the butt near the top of my uterus and baby’s head at the bottom of the uterus (at the moment, who knows if this will change – let’s hope not!).

Lots of movement lately and you can definitely feel when the baby rolls over or changes position (or is just flexing) – good to know what position the baby is in because I had no clue what I was feeling (knees? feet? hands? elbows?).

Only newish symptom lately is I think I have pregnancy induced allergies! I’ve been very congested (worst around 7PM). Then I go to bed and have so much snot inside and when I wake up and take a shower I blow my nose for like 5 minutes straight and it’s like greenish/yellow snot – totally nasty. Or it’s a cold that has lasted for 2 weeks straight. I guess if it lasts much longer I’ll know it’s allergies. I don’t have any other cold-like symptoms so I’m pretty sure it’s allergies, but I’ve never had them before so I don’t know what is normal.

Heartburn hasn’t been as bad lately – perhaps because the baby is dropping a bit? It’s just uncomfortable when I bend over a lot. We spent the whole day outside on Saturday planting/weeding/mulching the veggie garden so I was bent over a ton and felt the burn then (not to mention my back was so sore!).

Still trying to walk 4-5 times a week and go to yoga once a week on Sundays (was canceled this past Sunday – boo). Pulled the muscle right below my right butt check yesterday from stretching in bed (seriously) so that’s been hurting a bit and making it hard to walk. The rain is making it difficult to find motivation, too. Hopefully it clears out soon!

We went to a breastfeeding basics class on Sunday morning in Arlington and that was very informative. They made everything sound easy so hopefully we don’t have any issues! That does it for baby classes for us. I can’t believe we are nearing 5 weeks until baby arrives. This went by too fast!!!

Next OB appointment is 6/4 and they will do the Group B strep test. Will update at that time.

What I miss – being able to put on and take off socks and shoes like a normal person.
